The Dynamic Church is blessed to have a seasoned team of volunteer pastors who serve as a labor of love.


Pastor Gerry Purcell Gerry Purcell - Senior Pastor / Elder
Pastor Gerry's heart, and DNA, is to raise up, equip, and release strong leaders to do God's work. At his core, he is an edifier of people. While his father served over 50 years in full- time ministry, Gerry pursued other career and business goals. At 17, he led one of America's largest youth organizations, moving on to became a decorated military officer, and then to blaze a career trail in health care, becoming a nationally known speaker and consultant. He enjoyed much career success, but found his significance after accepting the call to pastoral ministry. He believes in preaching with depth and his favorite teaching subjects are wisdom, wisdom and wisdom.

 

Pastor Ken Hazel Ken Hazel - Executive Pastor / Elder
Pastor Ken carries a dual mantle of leadership/ administration and a pastor's heart for seeing God's purposes fulfilled in people. He is the "go-to" Pastor, known for a gift of wisdom and discernment. PK, as he is affectionately known as around DC, has a powerful personal testimony of redemption and restoration. PK is a self-taught software architect (that means he is smart) who designs software solutions to make things run more efficiently; the same sort of things he does as the Executive Pastor. It seems like the Holy Spirit uses PK to preach on subjects that are "on-time, in season" words of direction for living the Spirit filled life.

 

 

Pastor John-Bosco Ogwang John Bosco Ogwang - Teaching Pastor / Elder
Pastor John is the Overseer of our outreach to the nation of Kenya and the Karibangi Community Church. He is pursuing his theology studies at Beulah Bible College while also leading Hope for Africa, a non-profit benevolence ministry which provides clothing to the poorest of poor in Kenya. Every year, he manages the shipment of two to four shipping containers, each containing clothing for 2,000 people. The manner in which we linked up with John is, basically, a miracle (we would love to share the story). He has a gift of faith that inspires all of us. He loves to preach on the greatness of God. He is a man of destiny, who God is using strategically to change the course of a nation.

Pastor Chris Calloway Chris Calloway - Teaching Pastor
Two words describe Pastor Chris best: determination and excellence. He is a coach at heart, with a real life winning track record as a football coach, coaching young boys to become men of character. Pastor (and Coach) Chris embodies excellence, and is always challenging DC to aim for the high calling of Christ Jesus and excellence in all we do. He embodies the gift of faith. His testimony, from very difficult and humble beginnings, is inspiring. Chris is a successful software sales manager in the banking industry. His favorite teaching subjects are faith, blessings, stewardship and, of course, excellence in life.

Pastor Tom Walker Tom Walker - Worship Pastor
Pastor Tom is called to the very high and important (and Levitical) duty of leading us into the Holy of Holies through praise & worship. Pastor Tom's musical talents are impressive, but his love of people is known throughout the land. He is a magnet for young people (he and his wife Denise have five children so there is never a dull moment in their home). Tom was a self-proclaimed "knuckle-head" college football player who was radically saved. He has tremendous experience in leading praise & worship and raising up teams.

Julianne Purcell Julianne Purcell - Women's Ministry Director
Julianne is the wife of Pastor Gerry and a dynamo in her own right, balancing ministry with being a mom of two boys and a top ranked healthcare sales manager for over a decade. She was a cheerleader at the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in journalism. She put that training to work serving a brief stint as a broadcaster in Atlanta. She later found her career niche in health care. In her spare time, she loves taking care of her two horses, Apollo and Falcon. Julianne has a huge heart for single moms. She understands their unique challenges and has walked the walk.

 

Gretchen Hazel Gretchen Hazel - Children's Ministry Director
Gretchen is the wife of Pastor Ken. DC has always had a good children's ministry, but Gretchen has transformed the ministry into a great ministry in 12 months. She started by leading the building of a children's ministry sanctuary (called the Righteousness Ranch), around a western theme, complete with a puppet stage. She then integrated the world class Willy George children's curriculum. Our kids just love it. Gretchen brings the professionalism from her career, as a Director of Development for a major world-wide hospitality firm, into her ministry endeavors. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Stout, where she played Division III basketball. She and Ken are the proud parents of a new baby boy.
